To assist users wanting to locate copies of the listed titles or see if there are digitised versions available, there are 'hot links' from the titles to all that are listed in WorldCat. WorldCat often has duplicate entries and the most 'popular' entry has usually been linked to.
Canadiana is trying to digitise all Canadian journals published prior to 1921 and all Canadiana content is now freely available. A link has been created for any titles that have been digitised (in full or in part) by Canadiana
Information and links have also been added about other free e-versions if these are almost complete and appear to have stable URLs.

NATIONAL HYGIENE AND PUBLIC WELFARE
Incorporating the Dominion Medical Monthly.
v.58:1-6, Toronto, January to June, 1922.
Editor: Editorial board
In July 1922, this short-lived journal (or, rather, this journal with such a short-lived title) amalgamated
with Canada Lancet to become Canada Lancet and National Hygiene.
None of the "Canada Lancet" series of titles ever published vols. 56 or 57 (Though several issues were labeled 56!). The volume numbering of this title seems to have taken over the numbering of the Dominion Medical
Monthly and Ontario Medical Journal.

NURSES' ALUMNAE JOURNAL (ANNUAL) OF THE WINNIPEG GENERAL HOSPITAL
v.1 - Alumnae Association, Winnipeg General Hospital, Winnipeg. February 1907- . Volume 1 (1907) was
numbered 1 - 4 but, starting with vol. 2 (1908) the numbering ran continuously from No. 1 - No. 73 (Nos. 28
and 37 were omitted and number 58 has parts a and b.)
In 1928 numbering was abandoned and only years were used because the title became an annual publication.
In 1928 the title of the journal was changed to the Nurses' Alumnae Annual of the Winnipeg General Hospital
and volume numbering was discontinued. In 1975 the title changed to Nurses' Alumnae Journal of the
Winnipeg General Hospital and Health Sciences School of Nursing. In 2001 the spelling of Alumnae
was changed to Alumni.
The first Editor of the Journal was Isabel M. Stewart and the Literary Editor
was Ethel I Johns, both of the Class of 1902 of the WGH School of Nursing. The Editor of the
Personal Column was Miss Lumsden (Class of 1900) and the Editor was Miss Wilson (Class of 1899)
who was Superintendent of Nurses.

PUBLIC HEALTH MAGAZINE AND LITERARY REVIEW
v.1 - v.2:12, John Dougall and Son, Montreal, July 1875 - June 1877.
Monthly.

No earlier Canadian journal devoted itself so specifically to public health. The founding Editor and his brother,
who joined him in editing this journal during its second year of existence, used the journal to encourage a
critical examination of the state of public health in Montreal especially and throughout the country generally.
One occurrence that received much publicity was the formation of the Citizen's Public Health Association
in Montreal on June 15, 1875. The association grew out of a public meeting held a few days earlier and
chaired by the mayor of Montreal, Dr. William Hales Hingston. (See note to Gazette Médicale de Montréal).
Articles published included those with titles such as "Proposed Plan of Public Scavenging" (vol.1 p.33)
and "Vegetarianism" (vol.1 p.104). On smallpox vaccination the Editors advise: "But, above all,
let vaccination
be compulsory, and subject the refractory to a fine if they neglect it" (Vol.1 p.52).
